If you’re looking for martial arts for kids in Waterloo then drop by for a visit at D’Souza Martial Arts. The club is owned and operated by Ms. Charlotte D’Souza, a fifth degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
Ms. Charlotte has more than 15 years teaching kids from ages 3 and up through to youth, teens and adults. Classes are fun and engaging and help kids develop strength and coordination as well as self-confidence. Many parents have found that having their kids in martial arts classes helps with focus and concentration in school. And, a child who burns off their energy in class is much more likely to fall into bed and night and sleep soundly.
In addition, kids learn how to diffuse negative situations at school and on the playground by learning self-defence techniques but, they are taught that they must first use their words. And, greater self-confidence comes from working towards each belt level with regular class attendance and then being presented with the next belt upon completion of the testing.
Kids can also develop life long friendships from attending martial arts classes. Many of our students have been training together for several years. While our focus is teaching your child Taekwondo, from time to time we offer other fun activities as well such as movie nights and sleepovers.
Our club also offers classes for adults so as a parent, you might find that you will want to participate as well once to see how much fun your child is having. On Saturday mornings, we offer a family class at 10 am so that you and your children and participate together.
